VillageBee legal
Community Guidelines
VillageBee is designed for warm, practical local connection. These guidelines set the minimum conduct and privacy expectations for every account and community.
Treat people with dignity
Be respectful, patient, and honest. Harassment, threats, intimidation, hate, demeaning conduct, unwanted sexual behavior, discrimination, or targeted exclusion are not allowed.
Protect private community context
Do not copy, publish, sell, scrape, or use another member’s contact details, household information, dietary or accessibility needs, messages, photos, attendance, or trusted disclosures outside the purpose for which they were shared. Ask before taking or posting identifiable photos.
Keep participation safe and lawful
Do not promote violence, illegal activity, fraud, dangerous conduct, malicious software, spam, or deceptive commercial solicitation. Do not use VillageBee to arrange activity that puts another person at unreasonable risk.
Confirm food ingredients, allergy risks, accessibility arrangements, transportation, and in-person logistics directly. VillageBee is not an emergency channel.
Use chat and shared spaces thoughtfully
Stay relevant to the group’s purpose. Do not flood conversations, pressure people for replies, expose confidential information, or move a sensitive disagreement into public view. Avoid sharing financial credentials, government identifiers, medical records, or other highly sensitive information in chat.
Share recipes responsibly
For an external recipe, provide the direct source link and accurate administrative source details, then write only your own concise menu description, preparation tips, and adaptations. Do not copy another publisher’s photographs, illustrations, narrative, or full instructions without permission. For an original recipe, share only material you created or have the right to provide.
Do not add deceptive, malicious, unsafe, or undisclosed commercial links. Report a recipe link that is broken, misleading, inappropriate, or suspected of infringing another person’s rights. Always recheck the current ingredients, allergen information, substitutions, and food-safety instructions before preparing or serving a dish.
Use AI assistance with human judgment
When an authorized drafting feature is enabled, treat its output as an unverified suggestion. Review facts, names, dates, tone, accessibility, and audience before saving or publishing. Never enter private member details or use AI as the sole decision-maker for eligibility, discipline, safety, health, accessibility, allergies, or other consequential matters.
Represent yourself and your intentions honestly
Use your own account, provide accurate information, disclose relevant organizing or commercial interests, and do not impersonate people or organizations. Respect invitation, membership, attendance, and host decisions made within authorized community processes.
Report concerns without retaliation
Use VillageBee’s safety and support channels to report harassment, discrimination, privacy concerns, fraud, or unsafe behavior. Do not retaliate against someone for raising a good-faith concern. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
How we respond
VillageBee and authorized community organizers may review relevant information, reduce visibility, remove content, restrict a feature, pause participation, suspend an account, or end access. The response depends on severity, context, repeated behavior, safety, and available evidence. We do not promise that every report will produce a particular outcome.
