VillageBee legal
Terms of Service
These terms explain the responsibilities that come with a VillageBee account and the boundaries of this community service.
1. Who operates VillageBee
VillageBee is operated by Villagebee. In these Terms, “VillageBee,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to that operator.
Questions about these Terms may be sent to [email protected] or mailed to NA.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create or control an account.
- You must provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access.
- You may not impersonate another person, create an account for someone without authority, or evade a suspension.
- Invitation or application review does not guarantee membership in a particular community or program.
3. Community service boundaries
VillageBee supports local communities, gatherings, Supper Clubs, and related coordination. It is not an emergency service, healthcare provider, background-check service, childcare provider, food-safety authority, or guarantor of another member’s identity or conduct.
Use emergency services for urgent threats. Confirm ingredients, allergies, accessibility needs, transportation, and other safety-critical details directly with the people involved.
4. Supper Club food and in-person participation
Supper Club meals are prepared, transported, hosted, served, and eaten by participating households, not by VillageBee. VillageBee does not inspect or certify private kitchens, ingredients, preparation, storage, transportation, or service, and does not guarantee that a meal is allergen-free or suitable for any person.
Food prepared in private homes can involve allergen cross-contact, foodborne illness, and other risks. You are responsible for deciding whether to prepare, host, serve, or eat food; following applicable food-safety guidance; sharing relevant dietary or allergy needs through the designated private planning tools; and confirming ingredients and preparation directly with the people involved.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use VillageBee to harass, threaten, discriminate, stalk, defraud, spam, exploit, endanger, or violate another person’s privacy; distribute unlawful or malicious material; interfere with the service; scrape private areas; or use member information outside the community purpose for which it was shared.
The Community Guidelines are part of these Terms. Community organizers may add program-specific rules that do not replace these platform rules.
6. Your content and private communications
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give VillageBee a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, display, and transmit that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service and to follow your sharing choices.
Do not upload content you lack the right to share. Private groups and chats reduce visibility but cannot guarantee that another participant will not copy or disclose what they see.
7. Moderation, safety, and program decisions
We may investigate reports, limit distribution, remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or preserve information when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, or service integrity. Community organizers may make membership and program decisions within their authority. We do not promise to monitor every interaction.
8. Recipes and external links
Menus may contain original recipes, preparation notes, or links to recipes published by independent websites. When you add an external recipe, you must provide an accurate source link and administrative source details, use your own concise menu description and preparation notes, and avoid copying the source’s photographs, illustrations, narrative, or full instructions unless you have permission. Source details may be retained with the menu revision for administration and rights review without being displayed as part of the menu design.
External recipe sites control their own content, availability, access requirements, advertising, security, terms, and privacy practices. A link does not mean that VillageBee sponsors, endorses, verifies, or controls the linked recipe. Links can change, break, or lead to content that differs from the menu description, and we may disable or remove a link that is reported as unsafe, misleading, unavailable, or infringing.
Menu descriptions, tips, substitutions, and allergen notes are planning aids. Before cooking or eating, open the current recipe, review its complete ingredients and instructions, and confirm allergens, substitutions, cross-contact risks, and food-safety needs directly with the participating households. VillageBee does not certify recipes or linked content as accurate, complete, or allergen-safe.
If you contribute an original recipe, you represent that you created it or have permission to share it, and the content license in Section 6 applies. Commercial, sponsored, or affiliate recipe links are not allowed in the current Supper Club beta unless VillageBee authorizes them and any required relationship disclosure is presented clearly.
9. Third-party services
VillageBee relies on service providers for hosting, email, chat, media, security, and operations. Their systems may be subject to separate terms. We are not responsible for independent services you choose to access through an external link.
10. AI-assisted features
When expressly enabled and labelled, VillageBee may use artificial intelligence to help an authorized community organizer draft or rewrite an announcement. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, biased, or unsuitable. A person must review and intentionally save or publish any suggestion; VillageBee does not treat an AI suggestion as an approved community decision.
AI assistance must not be used as the sole basis for membership, eligibility, discipline, safety, emergency, medical, legal, accessibility, allergy, food-safety, or other consequential decisions. Do not place confidential member information, sensitive personal information, or content you lack permission to disclose into an AI prompt.
We may suspend an AI feature if its operation, provider, or risk controls do not meet our requirements. The Privacy Notice explains how prompts and outputs are handled. AI assistance is disabled in the current Supper Club beta.
11. Changes, suspension, and termination
You may stop using VillageBee at any time. We may change or discontinue features and may suspend or terminate access for violations, safety risks, legal requirements, or material operational risk. We will provide notice when reasonably practical.
When these Terms materially change, we will post a new version and request a new agreement when appropriate.
12. Warranty and liability review
VillageBee is provided on an “as available” basis. Community participation and in-person activity involve risks outside the platform’s control.
13. Governing law and contact
Governing law: TBD.
